Where do we get started?
You, the client, decide which part or parts of your A/R process you would like us to help you with. Our representatives can meet with you to learn about your priorities and challenges and propose a customized solution. At that time, our staff will collaborate with you to provide a smooth transition into the service you have designed.
How has Everest complied with HIPAA regulations?
Everest has a “firewall” in place that protects our network and all internal equipment from unauthorized traffic. Our staff has received formal HIPAA training and by contract must conform to these regulations. Our electronic claim vendors are required to be HIPAA compliant.
How does Everest handle insurance denials and follow-up?
Our claim specialists work EDI reports daily and correspondence is routed by payer for resolution. Our consultants contact the insurance company utilizing all available tools to determine the next appropriate action to expedite payment. We work with payor liaisons with all major payors to help in resolving global payor issues. Our collectors submit documentation, make written appeals, investigate pertinent contracts for contract limitations, perform whatever action is necessary to collect the claim and assure correct patient billing. If we are unable to collect a claim, we provide a detailed explanation, and all actions are documented to assure an audit trail. In addition, Everest will provide specific guidance on how to prevent future conflicts in our monthly “Issues Report.”
How will electronic billing affect our A/R?
We bill electronically every day. Daily billing reduces turnaround time, which increases cash flow into your organization.
How do you receive needed medical information?
We would request access to medical records via electronic means (EHR or similar system) or we would need to establish a contact person (on-site at the facility) to provide records as needed. We will monitor outstanding record requests and maintain a reporting system to assure all records are received and processed timely.
How will you reproduce or resubmit insurance claims?
Billing information can be updated and resubmitted electronically or faxed immediately if necessary. Every effort is made to provide accurate clean claim submission at initial billing.
How will patient complaints be managed?
Your patients are very important to us. Any patient complaints will be handled according to your specific requirements. All patient issues will be managed effectively, and resolution will be reported to appropriate parties.
How are payer issues tracked?
Everest A/R provides a detailed issues list monthly for all clients. This report specifically details what issues have been identified, as well as our suggestion on providing resolution.
Is Everest able to work with all billing systems?
Because of the diverse background and experience of our staff, we have been successful working with all systems to date.
Will I have to devote significant amounts of my staff’s time to Everest’s services?
Our goal is to augment your current efforts with as little intrusion to daily tasks as possible. We will design a plan to receive needed information with our clients to make the process as streamlined and as seamless as possible.
How long does it take to get started?
Different setup times vary by the client; in some cases, we can get started in a few days, while more involved projects may take two to three weeks.
