Any new trends catching on in your industry?
The global trend toward digitization is accelerating backed by progress in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, deep learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Additionally, the traditional office environment is changing and will continue to do so. No longer confined to our desks, we have the freedom to work on the road using our phones, in the park using our tablets, or halfway around the world using our laptops. Smart companies are more than aware that the nature of work is evolving and have been busy seeking a competitive advantage for their organizations and teams by selecting and implementing the right tools and technologies. We have developed products and solutions in our Workplace of the Future™.
How is the industry growing/changing to meet future needs?
The graphic arts and industrial print industries are rapidly growing. We have several new product lines to address these growing market trends.
Our new production print line includes the AccurioJet KM-1; AccurioPress C2070; AccurioPress 2060; and AccurioPRO Conductor which ultimately streamlines workflow to expand print services.
The AccurioJet KM-1, a B2 digital inkjet press, represents Konica Minolta’s flagship entry into the high-quality, UV inkjet marketplace. It employs Konica Minolta’s inkjet head technology and ink design technology combined with the advanced image processing technology that Konica Minolta has developed.
Our groundbreaking digital finishing technology is a game changer for print, packaging, and related industries. We are utilizing our R&D power to develop unique products fulfilling the need in the digital professional printing market. Variable Data Foiling (VDF), is an industry and the MGI and Konica Minolta alliance is driving exclusive decorating printing in the label, packaging and decorative printing categories.
What is your most popular product/product line? Why?
The Konica Minolta’s bizhub MFP color and monochrome devices. What is most exciting about the future of your industry?
The future means more information. The only difference is the medium. There may be less reliance on printed documents, but there will be more need for information and content management. Our role will be to facilitate this explosion of information so that customers can consume it however and wherever they need, whether it is via computer, tablet or smartphone. All businesses, regardless of size, will face the need to manage their flow of information, from content creation to dissemination, storage to retrieval. Our responsibility is to help our customers manage the entire life cycle of their information. To that end, we are developing cutting-edge technology and investing in strategic partnerships so that we are in the vanguard of new opportunities and add real value to our customers’ lives.
