What does Duplitron do?

Duplitron provides award winning Multifunctional Printers (MFP), document imaging application and IT services that help you run your business seamlessly. We offer a full line of digital, color and monochrome MFP’s, scanners, shredders, touch screen interactive boards, and maintain a large inventory of supplies and parts to provide our customers with great service. Basically, we sell anything that helps the consumer smoothly run their organization. Duplitron has the products and solutions to provide end to end business process improvement.

Tell us about your company’s history.

Duplitron Inc. was founded in 1986 and quickly recognized as one of the fastest growing companies by Inc 500. In 2008, Duplitron, Inc joined Kyocera’s Direct Operation Division becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Kyocera Document Solutions. Within eighteen months of the acquisition Duplitron was charged to oversee Kyocera’s New York operation then shortly after their Southern New Jersey Branch. Duplitron currently covers all of New Jersey as well as the New York Metro Area. Kyocera entrusted us with the growth of their business, as we went from a company of just 25 employees to our current headcount of 65. Mark Vinges, President of Duplitron, Inc. and Kyocera Branch General Manager stayed on as our leader after the acquisition. In fact, most of our employees have stayed throughout the journey. Our company is like a family. I would say employee turnover is scarce to none. Many of us have been part of the Duplitron family over for twenty years.

Duplitron started off selling typewriters and copiers. Our sales expanded to encompass fax machines, printers, and scanners. Technology keeps evolving and with it, our business broadens to meet the needs, and diminish the pains of our customers.

What is Duplitron’s mission statement?

What are your most popular products?

Our most popular products are multi-function printers (MFPs). Our customers like the convenience of combining the functions of multiple devices into one unit. An MFP does just that by functioning as a fax, scanner, copier, and printer.

Our IT services are also popular. Our engineers operate out of our own network operations center to provide your business with customized IT support to ensure that your IT infrastructure operates at the optimal level. We offer managed IT services which include remote monitoring and management, security protection, hosted email, on-site hardware repair and more. We also provide cloud services such as SPAM filtering, email archiving, email encryption, and hosted server solutions.

Duplitron customers also love our networking applications that allow them to print from their tablet or phone.

Our service department’s average response time is under 3 hours, and each one of our technicians has over 15 years of experience. Since we are located at Kyocera’s headquarters, we have access to many things our competitors don’t. What is most important for your customers to understand when looking for a new printer or a document management service?

With Duplitron, clients can trust that their business investments and time are safe and secure because they are backed by a $14 million subsidiary of a $13.5 billion company. We are not your average run of the mill, down the street copier dealer.

Who is your ideal customer?

Any business that needs office equipment or IT services is our ideal customer. We serve small mom-and-pop businesses all the way up to large corporations. Some of our customers include the engineering consultant firm, Thornton Tomasetti, Princeton Public Schools in New Jersey and Brooklyn College.

Any notable projects you would like to tell us about?

We are currently planning an in-house event for clients to visit our showroom. It will be sort of like a technology event and a lunch-and-learn all in one.

What makes you excited for the future of your industry?

Technology in the copier industry is constantly evolving. That keeps our day-to-day business interesting. There is always a new technology or product on the horizon. And, we love helping our clients with end to end management solutions.

What are your customers’ most frequently asked questions (and answers)?

Customers want to know:

  • Do you finance?
  • Do you lease?
  • Can I outright purchase?

And our answer is: Yes, yes, and yes!

  • Where can I get supplies?

Our warehouse stocks a wide variety of supplies and parts. And because our facility is in the Kyocera Document Solutions Headquarters, our turnaround is minimal.

What are some misconceptions that customers tend to have that you’d like to clear up?

Duplitron, Inc. is not just a copier dealer. We sell a wide variety of office equipment such as multi-functional scanners/printers, shredders, and interactive touch screen TV’s.
